The music of Waking The Sleeping Bear is an all-angers crossroad.
It's about time passing, past adolescence too quickly disappeared, about the anguish of the future by the ones that are dismayed by the past... Dressed sometimes with tribal sounds, sometimes with suffocating synthetic ambiences, the nü metal of WTSB hammers with rage some powerful convictions over a frenetic French-speaking phrasing, sometimes sung, rapped, shouted, etc.

Officially born in 2017 with the release of a first single "Drapeau Rouge", the group actually finds its roots 10 years ago, when Adrien, Edwin, Arthur and Simon met on the benches of Dole schools in France. From their multiple aborted projects springs the current formation of WTSB in 2016, gathered by chance in the urgency of a concert to ensure. To this anecdotal birth will follow a project fueled since by passion and unshakeable friendship, which will lead after two singles to a first EP in 2018: "Jungle Urbaine".

A molten substance, both elusive and superfluous, WTSB's sound never embarrasses itself with labels, venturing almost randomly in all territories. From rap to world music, from indus to fusion, everything is melted on a modern metal basement, where the seeds were planted 20 years earlier, by Team Nowhere of Family Values Tour.

Between disillusioned punk rebellion and full of hope refelctions, the quartet deploys a breathtaking energy, tribal and electronic, that perfectly fits for the live. Its on stage that WTSB's power is fully revealed, and it is on stage that they will defend their new album "Porno Future" with the most ardor, waking up once again the metaphorical "sleeping bear" in each of us.

La musique de Waking The Sleeping Bear est au carrefour de toutes les colères. Il y est question de temps qui passe, d'adolescence révolue qu'on a vu s'écouler trop vite, des angoisse de l'avenir de celui qui est consterné par le passé... Drapé tantôt de sonorités tribales, tantôt d'étouffantes ambiances synthétiques, le "nu-metal" de WTSB martèle avec rage des convictions puissantes au rythme d'un phrasé francophone frénétique, tantôt chanté, rappé, crié, etc.

Né officiellement en 2017 à la sortie d'un premier single "Drapeau Rouge", le groupe trouve en fait ses racines il y a maintenant 10 ans, lorsque Adrien, Edwin, Arthur et Simon se rencontrent sur les bancs des lycées Dolois. De leurs multiples projets avortés naîtra la formation actuelle de WTSB en 2016, réunie presque par hasard autour de l'urgence d'un concert à assurer. À cette anecdotique naissance succèdera un projet alimenté dès lors par une passion et des amitiés inébranlables, qui mèneront après deux singles à un premier EP en 2018 : "Jungle Urbaine".

Substance en fusion, à la fois insaisissable et superfluide, le son de WTSB ne s'embarrasse que très peu des étiquettes, s'aventurant presque au hasard sur tous les territoires. Du rap aux musiques du monde, de l'indus à la fusion, tout y passe et se distille sur un substrat de metal moderne, ou les graines ont été plantées 20 ans plus tôt, aux grandes heures de la Team Nowhere et autres Family Values Tour.

Entre rébellion punk désabusée et réflexions pleines d'espoir, le quatuor déploie un univers qui se veut prenant, tribal et taillé pour le live. C'est donc sur scène que l'énergie de WTSB se dévoile pleinement, et c'est sur scène qu'ils défendront avec le plus d'ardeur leur nouvel opus "Porno Future", réveillant au passage une nouvelle fois le métaphorique ours endormi qui sommeille en chacun de nous.
